Mnet has announced that survival program BOYS24 will begin airing on Mnet and tvN on June 18.
BOYS24, a reality survival program where 49 trainees compete for 24 male idol hopeful spots, will air for a total of 8 episodes.
BOYS24 is a mega K-pop project produced by CJ E&M’s Music Business Unit. The 49 trainees who were selected from thousands of applicants will compete to become the final 24. The selected 24 trainees will then perform live shows everyday for one year at the Mesa Building Popcorn Hall in Myeongdong and final members will be selected to debut as an idol group.
To differentiate from previous survival programs, contestants will compete in units and trainees with the best teamwork will be selected as the final members of BOYS24. The main producer for the show, Oh Kwang Seok, stated, “If previous survival programs selected one top winner, ‘BOYS24’ is a unique survival program where contestants perform in units and the show will put the most importance in teamwork.”
Meanwhile, Mnet shared two teaser videos of BOYS24 on their official YouTube channel.
